Dr. Shafiq Chughtai

Dr. Shafiq Chughtai is working as Consultant HPB and Transplant Surgeon (Liver & Kidney) in RMI. After graduating from National University of Sciences and Technology in 2003, he did FCPS in General Surgery in 2011 (Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi).

He passed MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, UK and moved to England for higher surgical training. He completed his Fellowship in HPB and Liver transplantation from Queen Elizebeth Hospital Birmingham (Largest Liver Transplant Center in UK) and St James University Hospital Leeds. He passed his FRCS exam in 2018 and achieved specialist competencies from General Medical Council in HPB Surgery.

He did his Masters in Organ Transplantation from the University of Liverpool, UK with distinction. He has authored and presented more than 20 research papers within UK. He has worked as surgical tutor in Royal College of Surgeons of England and University of Leicester. Currently, he is part of teaching faculty for University of Edinburgh. He has worked as Consultant HPB (Liver and Pancreas Cancer Surgeon) in Royal Stoke University Hospital.
